The expected impact of VERIFy will have potential positive impact on the health and safety objectives of the European Union. Specifically, the robotization for non-ergonomic operations, such as repetitive motions, is anticipated to increase the safety and wellness, reducing the observed effects by up to 15%. An important impact of the VERIFy project will be to ensure the safe human-robot collaboration and reduction of the risk of developing musculoskeletal disorders.

The use of robots in the finishing process of BREMBO may lead to improved products with a higher quality thanks to the reduction of the scratches missed by the human operator. The automated vision system for quality control will raise up to 25% the successful diagnose of scratched in the surface of the product and thus avoiding possible errors when the human operators get tired. Another outcome of this aspect is the reduction of production costs. This will be achieved by eliminating the wrong recognitions for scrap parts and by reducing the time needed for quality inspection by 25%.

Furthermore, through the better utilization of human workforce the VERIFy project will achieve an increased production efficiency and consequently lower production costs. Also, the proposed solution will affect the finishing process of BREMBO by reducing time for the quality control for product defects by 25%. VERIFy will also improve flexibility by providing a quick setup of different geometries, as well as flexible handling for product inspection. Another impact of this solution will be to reduce the current floor space now used for the operators.

VERIFy will have an important impact in terms of energy/eco efficiency and sustainable manufacturing. More specifically, the minimisation of deburring equipment will lead to less maintenance needed in general as well as less spare parts. Also, the incorporation of eco-models to the machines/robots will lead to less energy consumption.
